If you are coming to an event not on the yacht club site please complete a parental consent form. We cannot take responsibilty for young people without a completed form for safety reasons.
Aims of Youth Squad
1. Build interest in all club events by creating a social group for all the youth of the club (regardless of sailing ability). We will be holding events once a month either ashore or afloat (conditions dependent). We hope this will help, with cadets wanting spend more time together and parents making friends with other parents also.
2. Increase participation in club racing by providing on the water activities one Saturday per month during the sailing season for Squaddies (Youths with RYA Level 3 or above) focused on improving skills in a fun atmosphere giving them the confidence to spend more time on the water.
3. Develop advanced Squaddies' (youths holding the start racing qualification) racing skills with specific coaching to improve boat speed and handling, tactical awareness and race strategies, with the goal of them being competitive in club racing, having the confidence to attend regional and national open meetings and ready to represent NDYC in team racing events.
